The magnets integrated into these earbuds allow users to join the two earbuds together. Once connected, the wires can be neatly wrapped around the joined earbuds, creating a compact unit that is easy to carry and won't cause any inconvenience. No more untangling wires or dealing with messy knots.
During the design process, Qian and Ma developed proof of principle rigs to ensure the correct geometry and material combinations. They also conducted extensive research to ensure that the magnets wouldn't have any negative effects on the inside speakers of the earbuds. The final design specifications for these innovative earbuds are 8mm wide, 4mm deep, and 32mm high.
The project, which took place in Zhengzhou, China, started in December 2016 and was completed in February 2017. Qian and Ma faced several challenges along the way, including determining the optimal form for the earbuds. Through multiple iterations and prototype testing, they ultimately arrived at the sleek and functional design that we see today.
Qian and Ma's design has received recognition for its ingenuity and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Digital and Electronic Device Design category in 2017. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life. Qian and Ma's earbuds are a testament to their commitment to making the world a better place through innovative design.
With their unique magnet parts and user-friendly functionality, these earbuds offer a solution to a common problem faced by many. No longer will we have to spend precious time untangling wires or dealing with messy knots. Qian and Ma's design brings convenience and simplicity to our lives, allowing us to focus on what matters most - enjoying our music.
